things i've shipped

small saas. most of them built with kaan sentürk; one is a non-profit i run on my own. each solves a specific problem for a specific person.

they aren't portfolio pieces. they're live products people actually use, written about here as case notes.

§ 01

language islands

speak the language. don't grind a tree.

with kaan sentürk · web · ios · android

premise

most language apps drill you on isolated words. you learn vocabulary, not language. people quit because nothing they're doing actually brings them closer to speaking — they just keep a streak alive in an app that doesn't care.

mechanic

organised around two opposing tracks. easy listening — short native sentences with translation, designed to let the language wash over you. hard active recall — the same sentences, hidden, that you reproduce out loud. the daily loop is small, finite, audio-first.

§ 02

zazaki islands

a vanishing language, kept alive by the people who still speak it.

solo · non-profit · web

premise

zazakî is classified by unesco as endangered. existing ai — chatgpt, gemini — can't reliably translate it. if it gets passed down, it survives; if not, it disappears in a generation. it's a language i grew up around in basel.

mechanic

no machine translation. native speakers translate community-submitted german sentences into zazakî and record audio; learners practice through listening comprehension and active recall. two tracks, audio-first, dialect-aware.

ambition

the slow ambition is to build a clean, dialect-accurate dataset over years — then train a small, open zazakî language model on it. the first that actually works for the language. for now, every sentence is volunteer-translated.

§ 03

therapiebericht

therapy reports, written with you.

with kaan sentürk · web

premise

swiss therapists spend hours every week writing reports. most of it is structural and repetitive — the clinical thinking takes minutes; the typing takes the evening. it's a quiet tax on the people we'd rather see rested.

mechanic

an editor that knows the shape of a swiss therapy report. clinicians type the clinical bones; the system fills in the standard formulations, the structure, the right register of swiss german. privacy-first — model routing chosen to keep data on-prem wherever possible.
